Babol is located in
the middle zone of Mazandaran Province in north of Iran bounded by Amol city
to the west (30 km)Qaemshahr city to the east (20 km), Babolsar port to the
north (18 km) and Alborz sub mountain forests to the south . The city has been the regional trade center since 11th century.

It is the chief regional commercial centre and was once the major trading
center of northern Iran. The population is estimated around 500,000 ( the
city and its country sides).
Babol , accommodating more universities, shopping centers and natural sights like forests, compared with other cities of Mazandaran province, has taken the title of "The
Academic City" of Mazandaran province.
Like many other cities of Iran, it is not empty of historic buildings and
monuments the most famous of which are Ganjineh-ye-Babol, Mohammad Hassan Khan bridge ( late 16Th century), tower of the Royal Palace ( 1920 ) and some other religious constructions of 17,18 and 19Th centureies.

Furthermore, you can schedule your tour to take a trip to the ecotourist attractions of the beautiful northern slopes of Alborz chain mountain such as Lafour and Babolkenar woods, Shiadeh dam, Azerou thermal spring and Sheykh Mousa country.
Telar Hotel ( two star ) and Marjan Hotel ( One star ) are the only choices
to stay in Babol, but there is
a four star hotel in 1 hour distance ( by road ) to Babol (
Narenjestan Hotel ).

The city is located on the west bank of Babol Rood River and receives
abundant annual rainfall . Babol University is famous for its
